The Kentucky Center for Academic Excellence (KY-CAE) is a collaborative initiative dedicated to empowering Kentucky’s institutions of higher education in advancing cybersecurity, digital forensics, and emerging technology fields. Our mission is to strengthen academic programs, foster research and innovation, and create a stronger statewide network that bridges institutions, government agencies, and industry partners.
KY-CAE is committed to:
One of KY-CAE’s flagship events is the Kentucky Cybersecurity and Forensics Conference (KCFC), held annually and hosted by one of Kentucky’s higher education institutions. KCFC connects students, faculty, researchers, and administrators with cybersecurity leaders from the National Security Agency (NSA), National Centers of Academic Excellence (NCAE), the FBI, military, business, and federal and state agencies.
The conference provides a unique venue for networking, sharing research, promoting education, and inspiring innovation in cybersecurity and digital forensics. It also emphasizes community outreach, leadership in professional development, and the integration of cybersecurity best practices across academic disciplines.
We proudly uphold the values of academic freedom and open intellectual exchange. Views expressed by KCFC presenters are their own and do not necessarily reflect the positions of KY-CAE, its member institutions, or conference hosts. Attendees are encouraged to engage presenters directly with questions or concerns regarding content.
Together, through KY-CAE and KCFC, we are building a stronger, more resilient cybersecurity community across Kentucky and beyond.
