Dr. Shuangteng Zhang is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information
Technology at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) and serves as Director of the Digital
Forensics and Cybersecurity Institute. With over 20 years of service at EKU, he has played a key
role in advancing computing education through curriculum development, program innovation,
and student mentorship.
He was instrumental in the creation of EKU’s Bachelor of Science degree program in Digital
Forensics and Cybersecurity, helping to establish a robust foundation for cybersecurity education
at the university. As Director, Dr. Zhang oversees program coordination, teaches core courses,
and mentors students in research and career development. He also fosters collaboration with
faculty and industry partners to strengthen the institute’s academic and applied mission.
Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toledo. His research
interests include digital forensics, cybersecurity, signal and image processing, and machine
learning. He has published and presented in these areas and continues to support applied research
and student engagement across cybersecurity disciplines.
