Director - Dr. Abiodun Charles Robert

Dr. Abiodun Charles Robert holds a PhD (2007) in Information Systems Development and Management from France, earned through the prestigious LORIA Laboratory in collaboration with Université de Lorraine. He is an experienced professor, researcher, and information systems specialist with more than 18 years of teaching experience in graduate and undergraduate computer science programs across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.

Before joining academia, Dr. Robert spent nearly 10 years working with international research centers, including CGIAR-affiliated institutions such as IITA, ILRI, and ICRISAT, where he developed information systems across multiple operating system platforms including DOS, Windows, OS/2 Warp, Unix, and Android. His work included agricultural crop management systems for tropical environments, weather and weed management reporting systems, and geospatial applications using vector and raster GIS data.

Dr. Robert has extensive expertise in software development, cloud computing, database systems, machine learning, and information management. He has worked with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLAlchemy, RDBMS environments, MongoDB, AWS, and Microsoft Azure platforms. He also contributed to major open-data and open-access initiatives, including CGSpace and DataCite, and participated in large-scale data migration projects involving XML, JSON, GeoJSON, shapefiles, and ArcView technologies.

His current research interests include secure systems integration using HL7, blockchain technologies, generative AI, and large language model applications. Proficient in numerous programming languages and frameworks, he has applied computing technologies to machine learning, image processing, geospatial data management, data visualization, and distributed information systems.

Dr. Robert has authored more than 30 journal and conference publications presented across four continents and holds multiple professional certifications in computing and information technologies.
