Dr. Machica McClain holds the position of Chairman on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Cybersecurity and Forensics Conference (KCFC). Her academic credentials include a B.S. and M.S. in Computer and Internet Systems, respectively, both from American Intercontinental University. She also holds a Ph.D in Information Technology from Capella University. In 2021, she was appointed as the University of the Cumberlands' Point of Contact for the National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (NCAE-CDE) program. She led the program's re-designation in the fall of 2023.
In 2022, Dr. McClain, along with the University of the Cumberlands, organized the 2nd Annual Kentucky Cybersecurity and Forensics Conference. In the spring of 2023, she was appointed Dean of the School of Computer and Information Sciences by the administrative heads of the University of the Cumberlands. Dr. McClain has a rich and varied professional background, including being a panelist for the Wicked6 – Global Women’s Cyber League, and serving as a keynote speaker and organizer for numerous conferences on cybersecurity, AI, and research.
Over the past 15 years, Dr. McClain has amassed a wealth of teaching experience in both graduate and undergraduate courses, focusing on computer science, information technology, and security. Dr.Mac, has provided over 15 years of consultancy services as an information technologist. She is a member of the following organizations: Sword of the Shield (Omicron Sigma Sigma), Black Doctoral Network, and Woman in Cybersecurity (WiCys).
